The last time I neded to call them back I spent 3 days from 9 to 5 on the phone with no answer. At 4.30pm the unhelpful switchboard operator said why don't you call appointment services in the morning?. As the hospital block all return calls I had to go back through the switchboard. With something so important why can't you ask people with clear precise communication to call you. He spoke so poorly on the phone I could not understand the mobile he had left to call him back on. A referral call was made to my mobile by a specialist. I had a scan which revealed I may need to have my appendix removed. Any concerns I had were taken seriously and responded to promptly and appropriately. This made me feel cared for and greatly reduced anxieties about spending the first night with my new baby. The midwives on Lawrence always took time to introduce themselves at shift change, and consistently checked in on me and baby during the first day and night, offering any support I needed. I felt like they had time for mine and baby's needs, and supported me quickly to feed my baby. All members of staff from birth to discharge were fantastic. The midwife caring for me in labour was amazing, caring, supportive, professional and encouraging. I experienced consistently great care both in Labour Suite and Lawrence ward. Had my Pre op assessment today at city hospital when i first arrived at the hospital/clinic after traveling nearly 2 hours i was so worried and nervous that i was shaking and very overwhelmed but by the time i left the hospital i was alot calmer and that was thank to the pre op staff especially the nurse that i see she went through everything and took the time to listen to me and to answer any questions that i had which really put my mind at ease
